Excellence in Learning with ‘NLP’

Excellence in Learning with Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

Do you and your teachers struggle with engaging the learners and building rapport?

Do you find it hard to complete a lesson due to challenging behaviours in the classroom?

Are you challenged to find ways to motivate the learners and build resilience in self and others?

Wouldn’t it be great to have a fully engaged class? To be able to deliver the lesson the way you dreamed you could? to motivate the learners to achieve and succeed? To build resilience? Build rapport?

… and why I co created this programme with Emma McNally: to better enable you to deliver your lessons to an engaged and motivated class, achieve your goals of motivated learners, engaged with a strong sense of wellbeing.

I am a teacher that specialised in Prison Education, working with the most damaged in society. Arriving at a lesson they were disinterested, distracted, and disbelieving of any self-worth.

To teach these men, firstly they had to be mentally present and focused, so I studied Neuro Linguistic Programming. (NLP) – the art of communication, to achieve the desired outcome.

NLP and performance psychology is well established and evidenced within the sports world and it is now being more widely used within business and education with great success.

After 20 years teaching experience, I have designed this programme to share practical tools and insights with your teachers:

to focus on their own wellbeing as well as,

to provide skills and tools for them to share with students.

The training will be experiential in nature; you will learn the history, background, theory and models/tools, with examples of how they can be used to achieve your learning goals.

By understanding the concepts of NLP, you will be able to use the techniques to improve your own lives, and those of your learners to enhance the teaching and learning experience in the life-long learning sector.

Topics include:

Introduction to NLP.

Mind-body connection.

How to live ‘at cause’ to reduce stress and build resilience.

Meta Programs and the structure of personality (to build confidence).

NLP Communication Model, the presuppositions and tools of good communication, including: pacing, leading, rapport, clean language etc.

How to have better relationships.

Managing emotions more effectively.

You will experience first-hand how to apply the skills through demonstrations, have the opportunity to practise the tools within the training and to discuss how to apply them in the classroom.

Part one of the training addresses teaching using NLP to support delivery in a style to support the teacher’s well-being, whilst maximising the learning environment for the learner.

Part two of the training provides tools for the teachers to use themselves, and share with learners as part of mental health and resilience building for the learners.
